The first Periphériques was held on March 26 2003 at Rad'a Gallery
in Montreal (www.radamontreal.com).
Andrée-Anne
Clermont intervened in the gallery space proposing a mix of poetry,
urban intervention and fugitive daily art.
Éloi
Ménard et A+A (Anouk Pennel-Duguay et Antoine Lafontaine) followed
with a set of live audiovisual experiments , involving feedback improv
and digitally treated sound from a film screening, made out of cut-ups
and engraving.
Komsomolsk,
(1932; from komsomols, 2003; Julie Rousse and Philémon) proposed:
1.medic. Anarchic sound constructions, spontaneous and chaotic, in search
of equilibrium. 2. by extension Resurgence of savagery in electronics.
The night ended
in the neighbouring garage space, where people packed up in a claustrophobic
atmosphere for the biofeedback/biosignal encounter of Alexis Bellavance
and Mathieu Lévesque.Through stress management and metabolical
analysis, they controlled, using regulating body elements, the feedback
of biological information originating from a human system. Psycho-physiological
response in a live concert situation.
